A New Orleans Guest

This afternoon after the big celebration, the keeper didn't come right home. Oh no. First she checked out the purple sunset in Broadview. Then she had more people to see. She went back to her old church to visit with a very special visitor, Fr. Mike, the pastor of the Church in New Orleans which the keeper's former church has been helping out since Hurricane Katrina. It was wonderful to hear of the progress the New Orleans parishioners are making--personally with their own homes, and through use of FEMA and HUD, a whole new block of housing, like Holly Park, will go up next to the church, the church credit union is being restored, and a new school is being built. BIG THINGS. Yet, all is far from well in the Big Easy. But Fr. Mike and his creative ability to broker deals is helping to make all the difference in one small section of the city. And the keeper said she was proud to have helped make the connection between the two churches. She thinks that New Orleans is giving the Seattle Church new life as well.
