Camino Before Rain

It started off sunny.

The ducks were having a great time o the beach.

The eagles were screeching and hiding in the tall trees.

Look closely on the righ top for the tell-tale white feathers.

Then the clouds began to roll in.

Things became a little shadowy.

It may be sub zero in the Midwest, ablaze in Australia, 

dripping with humidity in Thailand, but here it is sunny 

 chill with a stunning end of day.

It was a busy day with no time for a camino in the morning. 

But the evening had its own technicolor rewards.

Another Day With the Keeper

After 2 plus months, we realize she is onto all 

of our games and tricks—

which she usually never gets to see in her time away from us. 

 After our naps late morning, 

we stalk each other and run wildly through the house.

Closer to home is an eagle who guards the wild places 

in Sheridan Heights. He/she has a whole group of groupie crows 

who never cease from chattering at him/her.

Living in Many Seasons

The last apple of autumn clings on through winter breezes.

Meanwhile, the QFC primroses were on sale.

We wonder if they have conversations—an autumn -spring friendship.

Our Winter Reading

Over these weeks in confinement, a lot of 

reading has been happening here.

Kind of like a multiple month Reading Week.

But for all of our friends who are want to better 

understand the often explosive terrain of white privilege, 

our participation in the structures of racism, 

and how all of this connects to our national history and to the present moment,
