A Full Thanksgiving

We went out in the cold sun for a bit, at least when the keeper was at home.                                                     But you won’t be surprised to hear she wasn’t at home a lot today. 

Where was she?

At the Cathedral,

Out walking the neighborhood in the sun,

With friends,

And watching White Christmas for the very first time.

She rushed in from her early departure from the office.

We thought we might be able to play outside.

Not so. Jesus was mulching leaves.

She wanted to walk before the sunset.

Here is what we didn’t see. 

She was amazed, though.

Our Day at the Vet

We learned we were going to the vet to have our teeth cleaned.

That’s what she thought.

We spent the day in the cages at All Pet.

No teeth cleaning, but instead lots of probing, poking, x-rays.

Phone calls, consults.

When she came to pick us up we heard Dr. R tell our Dr. R that 

I have a collapsed lung and some other possible infections.

Lucy has a heart murmur and congestion.

We would prefer to have shiny clean teeth.

But it seems like our elder years are going to be more interesting than that.

Shout, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Shout!

She wouldn’t let us join her for her very long walk in the rain to check out the fall flowers.

Nor did we accompany her to the Rep’s amazing production of Shout Sister Shout.

She was very excited about it, so we are telling you, “You should experience it!”

Happy Hour at Pair

She grew food at us and rushed off to join her friends for a little French 

happy hour with great conversation, small plates, and good wine.

She came home happy.
