Dinner at John Henry’s In the garden

San Jacinto Mountains

Snow and new green shoots.

A Visit to Sunnyland

This morning they took an excursion to the Visitor Center at Sunnyland,
the Annenberg Estate here, where Presidents, Kings, Queens,Prime Ministers, have all stayed and played and conversed.
The cactus gardens are so serene and provide
an oasis in the desert, be it the literal desert
or the sands of global conflict.
Interestingly enough, Obama was the last president to come here.

A Lazy Afternoon and a 50’s Evening

After so much walking it was time for a soak.
And later, a lovely dinner at a classic restaurant with a piano man.

On the Rat Pack Tour

Today the sun shone mostly.
This is Modernism week here.  A Celebratin of Mid-Century Modern!
Richard is a volunteer walking tour guide.
He took them on a private 2.5 hour walking tour of
Midcentury Modern architecture and the Rat Pack’s homes
regaling  them with stories (some of which may be true) of Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop. They paid respects at homes of Marilyn Monroe,
Kim Novak, Debbie Reynolds, Elvis and Priscilla, Rona Barrett, and so many more! They learned all kinds of facts which they might need for Jeopardy.

A Quick Trip to the Desert.

We have a cat sitter again.
The keeper, Curious George, and Carol flew out for
a quick visit to Palm Springs.
They arrived right after the worst rainstorm since 1943.
It was still better than snow.
They are visiting their friends Joseph and Richard in their beautiful desert
 home up against the mountains.

A Gift from the Future!

The Perils of Snowmaggedon

Last eve, we lost our power.
It was good for us to go to bed at a reasonable hour.
It was back on in the morning. And we were grateful.

This morning we began digging out.
The snow was 8 plus inches and packed over ice.
This was not part of the cardiac rehab plan.
And she stopped before nitro was needed.
The neighbors who are the soul of neighborliness helped finish.
Maybe we can get out tomorrow.

Snowmageddon

Morning came in gray clouds and we were snowed under.

Afternoon came and all seemed bright  and  beautiful.

We only needed a rope tow at the high school hill.
