Christmas Camino Prayer

May this birth still bring us peace.

Camino to Carmelites

Oliver sports his Christmas sweater

Once he got to take off the hat and beard, he seemed
To enjoy the holiday sweater in and out.

Greetings from Lord Oliver and Lady Lucy (under duress)

They made no further comments.

Christmas Day Reunion

St. James was resplendent in every way,
Including the wonderful Pugel family!

And presents followed!

A few presents were opened before dessert.
It’s a little different without having to await the arrival of Santa.
No calls from San Francisco elves.

Christmas Eve Dinner

A wonderful Christmas Eve dinnner with Prime Rib
fine sides, and the famous Radio Coteau wines!

La Luna de la Navidad

Christmas Eve Caminata

A chill sun-filled afternoon to seek out the mountain
and observe the light dancing in the woods.

Veni, Light of the World!

Christmas Eve Remembrance

For the past 14 years Christmas Eve  has  become  a
poignant touchstone.  It's today we remember our mom,
Mary Elizabeth, who died in San Diego on this day.
It was her favorite day. And  because of her enthusiasm
for Christmas Eve festivities, it was also our favorite day.
Now she rejoices from the other side and we are grateful
for the 90 years of generous enthusiasms she shared
with her family and friends.
Feliz Navidad!

makes the seasonal leap.

Happy Winter!

Solstice Camino

Today we celebrated the solstice and the eventual return of light by taking a
camino in the last hour of light this afternoon, arriving back at home
At 4:18, the time of the first sunset this winter.
Winter has always been the least favorite season, but this year is different.
It’s a miracle to just be alive to see this solstice.
