Easter Tuesday Gardening

The Gospel today tells the story of Mary Magdalene at the tomb mistaking the risen Jesus for a gardener. But when she heard her name, she recognized him. So today the keeper headed to the garden in the backyard. This is the first time she went out to work in the yard this year. She had gotten a little lazy and busy, and she said it was too cold. The plan was to turn over the dirt in the swing set area. Instead, she redid the whole compost pile which had piled up against the garage and had started to eat at the wood So, she made a fence and covered it with wire mesh and attached it to the garage and moved all the compost. Then she cleaned out most of the side garden, ripping out ivy and scooping up all of the pine needles. It filled a whole compost bin. She finished just as the rain started to fall!

This year the garden is full of new tulips--reds and yellows and oranges. As well, the keeper is sporting sporting new red wellies, or a less expensive version of wellies. And they are pretty sharp.
