May Day March

Another day inside. It was May Day, and the keeper joined 10-15,000 people and some dogs and parrots for the annual May Day March. It was quite a gathering, she said, but added that I wouldn't have enjoyed it. People kept pouring into the march from all directions and it was very peaceful and respectful. Arizona's new law has raised the necessity for intelligent and civil conversation and a move to a comprehensive immigration reform. Of course the keeper ran into 100's of old friends and was proud of her groups' representation there. It was a very busy day in Seattle-opening day, this march, and on the way home from Seattle Center they ran into another much smaller march with as many police--promoting marijuana legalization.
