The Flight into Egypt

More transition today.  The Magi had barely offered their gifts at the creche, and the family fled.  The Magi are still with us, but Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the donkey left.  The keeper said they had to seek sanctuary in Egypt, but we saw them go into our garage. So did the other animals, the angels, and most of the other odd visitors. It reminded us of the poem by Dr. Howard Thurman about the work of Christmas:

When the song of the angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flock,
The work of Christmas begins:

To find the lost,
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring peace among brothers,
To make music in the heart.

It was a fine Christmas, and we hope it will last all year long. We believe from our perspective that much work lies waiting.
