Back to Ordinary Time

This afternoon the keeper came home with way too much energy to stay inside  So we all went outside with her. The fog was hanging over us, a filmy dirty batting hovering over the trees and houses. The branches in the backyard were dripping wild rain. So we moved to the front yard where the remaining Christmas lights were waiting for the keeper to remove them. No rain in front. So for several hours she rolled up strings and strings of lights, with few bad words, until Christmas disappeared for another year. It looks pretty bare and bleak.

So, our front yard has entered Ordinary Time with all of its sadness, dimness, and struggle without much illumination. Lead kindly, whatever light comes our way.
