Goodbye, Weekend People

The keeper and the wildlife are beginning to reclaim the canal and the beach from the noisier visitors  who showed up on Friday evening.  The heron returned boldly to sweep the canal several times, once with fish in its mouth. The ducks seemed to take over after, and are spending much of the night quacking about something. The mist never lifted, even with the breeze.  So, after reading the newspapers from cover to cover, the keeper had long phone chats with family-- we understand her brother has a whole new lease on life, and a brand new pill regimen!  He has forgiven his sisters for dressing him up like a girl so long long ago.
