Super Sunday Tears---Joys and Sadness

The keeper flew out early this morning after providing us with new tasty tuna and tilapia in aspic. We had no idea when we would see her again. Today was Baby Emma's baptism in Duvall. Emma is the youngest member of the Young Adult group. We understand that the keeper wept with joy and pride over all of them through the baptism---the parents, the godparents, and all of the young Latino/as who filled the church. These young people are going to provide so much new leadership for the church and are so committed.

Several had already driven back from an early run to the detention center in Tacoma to see our friend, F, who is now entering his 2nd month there without option for bail and facing deportation, unless a miracle occurs. That news was the saddest of the day.  Everyone was ready to pay his bail bond. All he is asking for now are some new clothes so he can leave with dignity if he has to go.  That was the saddest news in the midst of so much joy and promise. The keeper wept for the stupid injustice of it all.
