Today is our day off. We had planned to help the keeper read and write a talk on lay leadership and Jesuits, but as life would have it, things did not go as planned. Starting at 6 am, the phone woke us up and then we kept getting calls. Then we turned on the tv news, then the emails, then the news feeds and the blogs. Then, there were follows ups to all of the above. Finally we told the keeper to stop and go to the gym because she was VERY hyped up, driving us crazy, and not getting any work done. She did. After spending 40 minutes on the elliptical trainer and lots of core work, she came home calmer. The phone rang a lot while she was gone.
If somehow you missed the cause of this HYPER state, the Pope announced his resignation today. The keeper says that this is a very important hinge moment in the life of the Church. We will keep reporting as things develop.
