Vigil of Reading Week

Yesterday, the keeper walked a good distance.  Today was saner; she actually worked because  Reading Week begins tomorrow! So, there was a funeral to plan and letters to write and lawyers to find and counsel to give. After picking out our new kitchen and bathroom tile, she went for a stroll through the neighborhood, hoped to visit the espresso stand's little nursery on 15th NE, and the Carmelite Monastery  in honor of the Carmelite Martyrs of Compiegne. But gates to the nursery and the monastery were bolted tight. Had they all caught the last train for the coast?
Instead, she visited with the pets on the way home. Two charming cats performed rolling tricks for her and then the dog she loves so much, who belongs to the Christians, fiercely defended the family home as the keeper approached.
