Sunday on the Beach at Last!

What a good day for a bike ride!  The sun actually peaked out for awhile and the keeper cycled off into town to replace her stolen backpack and bike lock as well as to find a Sunday paper.  But what she really wanted was to ride along the beach.  And so she did, and since the tide was still out, was able to ride for several miles.  There was enough wind to lift the kites up, but not much more.  Unbelievable.  But she witnessed some human behavior that keeps the OS towing companies in business.  Everyone was gathered around a white minivan which was forlornly resting in the surf, as the tide rushed in. The tow company was there too and ready to break in.  Tow companies can't move vehicles that aren't in neutral and it was locked tight.  Eventually, a red faced man ran onto the beach, jumped into the minivan and sprayed sand all over us as he sped away.  Also, the beach police were giving tickets to all of the silly people doing donuts in the sand and playing bumper cars with each other. There are so many fun things to do here, why don't they get bikes?
