If you look closely you can see the great blue heron feasting on fish. S/he moves like a tai chi practitioner, waiting, stalking, and in one gulp--catching and swallowing the fish whole. And it seemed like the fish were taking turns jumping into its mouth! The keeper sat with the binos for a while today watching the slow, graceful bird and the unwitting fish. She didn't see the mate, though.
