At an Episcopal Ordination

Today we celebrated the ordination of the new Auxiliary Bishop.
It was a very very long liturgy.   Because I couldn't see much,
I focused on the words in the oculus and the beautiful cascade of color.

The retired bishop was in attendance.
So was a cardinal, and maybe 2 dozen bishops,
120 or so priests, deacons (and wives),
and then there were the rest of us,
who are also God's people.

The anointing with chrism was very generous and
the newly ordained glistened.

Miters off for the new bishop's address.
