Villa Santa Fe Blessing

Today on the Cinco de Mayo we had another blessing.
This was a real celebration of Latino people an their contribution to our state.
This time we traveled to Bellingham to bless the new 50 unit
Villa Santa Fe which houses about 200 + Farmworkers
and their family members who work in the fields and fish industry in Whatcom County.
Many are indigenous people from very rural areas of Oaxaca, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras.
They speak a variety of indigenous languages and Spanish and English.
We drove up into the beautiful storm clouds.
Gratefully, this was an indoor blessing.

About 80 people were crowded into the gathering space along with a wonderful choir, a bishop, and a priest, and a drummer from the Lummi nation who sang an honor song.
We had mayors, consuls from Mexico, Honduras, Peru, El Salvador, architects, bankers, funders, and residents,

Also, some of our finest staff helped set up the event
and the incredible Mexican lunch.

Both Gloria and Rob were instrumental in the completion
of the three large apartment buildings.
