Nuestra Madre de Las Americas

The keeper left early to get to the Cathedral for rehearsals for the big celebration.  We watched her go and we were sad because the sun was out.  She did not rush home, either, and when she did she showed us all kinds of pictures of dancers dressed like birds and said that the AB was wonderful.  Cecil didn't quite understand why people would dress up with feathers on their heads, and I explained to him that in this case it was a Catholic thing.  Not being raised in a Catholic home, this is all pretty new for him.  So I sat him down and told him all about the Virgin of Guadalupe.  He said it will take a while for him to get used to all of this stuff.

The keeper let us go out when she got home and while we played she raked up the back yard yet again.  She raked till it was so dark she couldn't see anything, but the air was great and she was tired of being inside.
