The Walk

While I was basking in the afternoon sunlight celebrating that I had conquered my fear, the keeper went out on her Sunday jaunt. This time she was very impressed with one neighbor's clematis. She was also struck by the fact that people are buying up our little cottages and tearing them down to build big houses on our street.
However, she told me she almost brought back two new members of the royal family. down by the Avenue of the Republic of Peru, where a friend lives, she was greeted by a skinny little cat, with a shorter than usual tail, ribs showing, who followed her for a block or two. But the cat disappeared. she warned it about the coyotes.

Then, as she was nearing home, a sweet doggie was sitting at the crosswalk, waiting for someone, But the doggie also followed her with its sad eyes and skittish ways. It had a collar and tags, and after a block returned to its perch on the corner of the crosswalk, and sat with longing. She hopes that the awaited keeper returns soon.  Such devotion! But dogs are like that!
