Fare Thee Well, Sweet Friend

Lord Cecil

2000 - 2014

In the early hours, before the dawn, the keeper returned to the Animal ICU.
She had made a difficult decision, to set our beloved Cecil free from the pain and weakness. They couldn't not stabilize him, and the cancerous tumors had also moved to his lymph glands.
So, around two am with a wonderful doctor,  she held Cecil on her lap and sent him over the rainbow bridge.  He was set free on such a wild and stormy night. As the keeper and I begin this time of bright sadness, we hold the treasured memories of such a faithful, peaceful companion who brought such life to us for the past four years.
Rest and play, sweet prince! We were so lucky to have you in our lives!

  1. I too, am so sorry. What an empty space he will leave behind him. I will miss him, even though we have never actually met. He was fortunate in having such an excellent Keeper.

  2. I was at Ash Wednesday Mass tonight and heard the news about Lord Cecil :( He was so fortunate to find a good home after spending time in transition at Whisker City. Glad the keeper gave him that great life!
