We were eager to see the keeper when she got home.
We knew there would be food, and possibly a chance to chase the bird on the string.
She fed us and played the bird string thing half-heartedly and went out for a long walk.
She said it was important to do so because it is summer now.
When she returned we heard about the mountain rising, the morning glories wrapping themselves around whole bushes, the hissing of summer lawns, and the smells of lavender, blackberry vines, and laurel.
We were happy to stay inside because the crows seem a little vicious right now.
We tried to warm her, but she ignored us.
