Post ride in the paddock!

Iceland has 330,000 people and at least 100,000 Icelandic horses.
They have special rules for horses:  every working horse has 3 months of vacation with opportunity to live in a pasture and not have to work.  They have 6 mos. vacation and 6 mos. work annually.
Even horses owned by individuals need to be pastured for 6 mos out of the year.  They cannot spend more than 6 mos. in a barn each year. This is a unique way to consider sabbath and. Jubilee years!

So, When we finished riding, the horses were all released in the paddock in the icy rain.  They responded by playing and rolling in them sloppy mud!
