With the Mayor of Galway

The Mayor of Galway was in town this weekend for St. Patrick's Day festivities.
And of course, he came to the 10 AM Mass with Mick.

Almost Spring!

The aroma of the daphne odora by the Seattle Center Fountain was seductive.
It is still working on blooming at the cottage.

The Needle has fascinated me since 1962
when as a 7th Grade class project I had to write and send  a letter to someone from
out of state to invite them to the Seattle World's Fair.
I wrote to our former neighbor, Mrs. Oliphant, who had just moved to Southern California.
I don't think she made the trip.
But, I couldn't wait to see the Needle in person and ride in the Bubblelator!
I did.  But I realized that was 55 years ago and I am old!

The moon broke through the clouds as I got home last night to end a great day!

Irish, Mexican, Czech!

Yesterday afternoon Suzy and I headed to Seattle Center for the Czech opera, Katya Kavanova.
But we made some stops--the Irish Cultural Festival was taking place at the Armory.
We shopped for scarves and looked at jewelry.
Then there was El Agave for Mexican food.
Finally, we got to McCaw Hall for the pre-opera lecture and the opera.
The lecture was very helpful, and the opera was quite good.
In each spot we ran into people we knew...Seattle really is a small town.

Grey Seattle

After work I met a friend at Ivar's on Northlake.
At first I thought I had switched my filter to black and white.
But no, this was the brightest shade of high color! A gray day indeed!

It got a little brighter as the sun began to set.

At the Housing Consortium Celebration

Today the Housing Consortium for affordable housing hosted a fundraising lunch
at the WSCC for 900 people.
It was a celebration of much progress and all the work which still lies ahead.
JTM from our group received the big award at the end of the event.
We were two proud tables cheering her on.

More Hope

It's March.  It was 75 in Palm Springs and Honolulu.
It might snow here tonight.

But the Hellebore appeared.

As will the tiger tulips!
