Well, did we luck out today! The keeper left early for the Cathedral and then was supposed to end up in Bellevue for more church. She had a wonderful time at the Cathedral this morning, wonderful liturgy, great conversations, connections with friends from days of yore. She reluctantly headed to Bellevue, but totally forgot about the I 90 Bridge closure for SeaFair. So, by the time she got to 520, Bellevue Spanish Mass was almost over, and there was a crowd trying to use the bridge for a change. So, she came home, let us go out and lie around in the sun while she read her newspapers in the sun with us. We reminded her that this is what life is all about. Her brother may be right...she should consider retirement. She is afraid of Alzheimer's, we think.

Ants ? On the March
This evening the keeper looked at the swarm of activity off of the side porch. "Ants. some of them have wings." Many don't. Alice calmly reminded her that termites are winged insects. The keeper went a little crazy. Alice and I think there will be a conference with Marylu in the morning about this.
We understand that termites caused considerable damage once at Ocean Shores, but the keeper told us they were much bigger.

Seattle Emerges From the Clouds
After the Jubilee, the keeper headed over to St. Joseph Residence to see our friend, KMD.
They had an exceptionally fine visit, and the clouds lifted, and Seattle became radiant again.
Hail Thee Jubilee Day!
Today the keeper left us with the house cleaner and the unfinished deck and headed to West Seattle to celebrate 920 years of vowed religious life lived by 12 very inspiring women. She had two friends celebrating today, B and J. This order of sisters is responsible for the keeper's dogged persistence to push the People of God to live out their mission. They pushed her to use her own God-given gifts, whether the institution accepts them or not. She is eternally grateful for their courage, spirit of adventure and prophecy.

No Deck Construction Today
Today the keeper was at her office all day and we were home inside listening to the jackhammer tearing up the road in front of the house. We had hoped to see our friend Marylu. But it rained, and she did not come. So, not only did we miss the fragrance of the first rain kissing the parched earth, we missed her. But the site looks pretty sad without the old deck, a bit like Dogpatch. Maybe tomorrow?
We did go out after the keeper returned from the office and the gym. The new rain smell had already dissipated.

Deck Reconstruction, Day 3
Today, Marylu ripped out the rest of the main deck. She is leaving the side portion til last.
She even tied up all the all flower stalks by the hottub.
She knows us by name and personality and makes sure we are comfortable.
The New Work Tool
Well, friends, we waved good bye as she flew out of our home this morning.
Before she returned, she sent us this photo from a phone store. She finally made a switch to the I Phone. And in the process, she met a former parishioner, Chris, who sold it to her and set it up, and on top of it all, a woman stepped right up and bought her old phone for twice the price the phone store was offering. And the buyer was a caterer, and they found all kinds of things in common!
Go figure! Some people live right, we suppose. While she was out we had to deal with the noise on both sides of the cottage.
