At Francis’ tomb

A flight of steps leads down to the crypt.

It seems like one of the most serene spots on earth.

At the crypt’s entrance is special  I ne for Jacobs, the 

Devoted disciple and friend of Francis who wanted to attend him in his dying.

The crypt of Francis is lit by candles and oil from many parts of the world.

It is very very peaceful in there.

A hint of what we all long for.
