Smell Like Your Sheep!

The receptionist at the Chancery was so inspired by Pope Francis
that she is displaying and sampling a new fragrance for all of those pastors out there.

Lunar Eclipse from Two Points

From the O'Dea Parking Lot

From the driveway at the cottage.  The smaller image is really the true image.
Interesting things that the camera does.

Shareholders' Dinner

Tonight the youth and adults who spent 10 days at the Nuestros Pequenos Home in Nicaragua
hosted a dinner for their supporters. Wonderful food, great video, and superb sharing by the young people who had an encounter which hopefully will transform them for life.

Sunday Best Bikers!

Quite a sight! Hondas, Harleys, Vespas all with drivers in suits and ties coming down Orcas in throngs for a sunday drive???! Not quite like the Harley group at the beach!

Pelicans At St. Ed's

The keeper spent the day giving talks at St. Edward today.
She found a little window with one of her favorite images, although it was cut in two by the panes.

What a Presence!!!

We have been visited by someone who calls forth the best in all.
The keeper came home and told me she spent the afternoon watching this man while she was working on several projects.

Along Came a. . .

This is definitely a spider year. The big one surprised the keeper tonight as she reached for the peppercorns.

These others have started webs in the bathroom.
As long as they don't bite, they can stay.

Morning on the Waterfront

This morning the keeper left me early to go to a Breakfast at Bell Harbor on the waterfront. She and a friend walked down the hill and along the water front on quite an exquisite morning.

Here's To You, Sweet Summer!

Today is the last day of summer. Today is a melancholy day for us here at the cottage.
The keeper came home and took a long walk through the neighborhood to celebrate a lovely warm and very simple summer. Laudato si'! We are not as fond of fall. But it's better than winter.

The Spider That Bit ThisTime

The keeper and I went outside in the wind.  I napped.  She picked up mounds of tree branches that had fallen down today. This year Fall seems to be about more than leaves and needles.
But after she had dumped all of the debris into Yard Waste, she felt a something crawling up her neck, and lo and behold, it was a Giant Orb Spider. Yes, she has more bites, but this spider was new to us, and so we looked it up in our spider book. It's yellow and actually pretty attractive, and not too poisonous to healthy humans. We released it back to the wilds. And she went to find the Benadryl yet again. Laudato si'!

No!!!!!!!!!!

LFP Farmers Market

The keeper left the Ministry Fair and headed to LFP.  The market only has a few more weeks this season. The squashes were lush and abundant, and the carrots were colorful.

SaturdayEve

Tonight the keeper had to speak at the southernmost parish in Seattle.
She was almost home when she spied the sunset over Shorecrest.

Law of Attraction

The tomato plant has a helper. The wisteria vine reached out to keep it from drooping.
One curled finger reaching out to another.

Holding Out for Real Chicken

I know there is chicken in the refrigerator, and it looks and tastes nothing like the stuff labeled "organic chicken pate" that comes out of my catfood can. I know that she will open the refrigerator and heat up that real chicken for herself. If I am patient and howl every few minutes she will share some with me, I know. I know how to wear her down.

And To All a Good Night!

And as the sun began to slip into the west in a most colorful way,
the guests made their ways home as well.

A Grateful Table

Their table had much to celebrate--each other, anniversaries, healing, the kitchen and all the wonderful people who came and find comfort and create family there, and those who support it, as well as a beautiful evening!

Newcastle

Then late afternoon it was time to head south and up a high hill to Newcastle to celebrate and raise funds for the Cathedral Kitchen. No rain, but lots of very fun people.

A Day on the Eastside

Today she put extra food in my dish.  And she thought I didn't notice.
I figured she would be home late.  She was off to her old stomping ground, except everything was in
English. There was a retreat to facilitate for the Board at Killarney Way on the Lake. She didn't have time to sit outside and for the eagles to put on a show in the trees or over the lake. But they were probably there. Some of the new maples were already turning color, though.
