Nothing better than a Christmas gift card to Sky Nursery.
But today the keeper found an even better deal. she left me this morning because she wanted to replace the daphne odora which had died either because of the heat or because of the hornet spray. She could not imagine us not leaving the house in late January or early February without the scent of daphne providing hope to our spirits run ragged by winter and autumn.
When she arrived at Sky she realized it was the big fall sales--30, 40 % off of most everything!
She brought home two daphne trees, another clematis, more herbs, and some autumal looking flowers for the front porch. Quite a haul. She spent the afternoon planting.
