We stand with Sr. Mary Lawrence, SP, who was the keeper's Freshman Music teacher. It was in her class listening to the Air in G, that they all learned of JFK's assassination. She also took the girls to many concerts and taught them how to sneak backstage in order to meet the artists. That is how the keeper at age 14 met Van Cliburn and Aaron Copland, and a few others. The girls in turn, took her out to the Benson Hotel and the Multnomah Club for "sophisticated meals."
