Arboretum Picnic

We had to stay inside while she and Judy packed a picnic and headed to the Arboretum.

The leaves, luminous slippers, danced in the little breeze on the clothesline branches.

The lichens climbed the old tree.

This was the only non green or brown flora to see.

Judy and the keeper took in the lake and the boats while they lunched.

Morning Camino

Before things got too hot, she went out for a several mile camino down to the lake.
It was a hazy day, out there.
What she didn't know was that before
she left Lucy pried the screen door open and
we went for our own camino to reclaim the back yard
from the squirrels who took it over last night.

When she returned, we were waiting for her at the door.
Kind of a surprise thing.

Luna Bellisima

A fine grilled dinner, a G & T,  Immortal Irishman,
and a moon like this!
What a great way to spend a Sunday eve on the deck!
And Lucy and I got to stay out til it got dark,
and then she gave us catnip inside.
Perfect night!

A Shining Saturday

Lucy showed me how she can use her hefty self to bump
the screen door open and sneak out.
It worked. And we did a fair amount of exploring this morning.
But we knew we needed to humor the keeper so
we let her catch us after awhile and carry us in.

Then she headed out for a long camino to see
the shimmery lake and mountain.
She spent some time at the nail salon getting all shiny.

And then left us for dinner with S and C and J.

But she got home in time to witness the shimmery moon rise over
our home.

At Cedarbrook Lodge

The keep's cousin and her husband are going to the Holy Land.
The flights are better from Sea Tac so they took the train from PDX
and are staying at a hidden gem of a hotel/ conference center right next to Sea Tac.
The restaurant serves local sustainably produced foods in a most elegant way.

Here the server pours the corn puree over
Hardy's corn bread crouton.

Aren't I Something Special?

The keeper had no idea I had just chased down a moth and eaten it.
I was very pleased with myself.

Summer Evening on Spring Street

Tonight she came home pretty darn late ( for our needs).
She was having a  delicious and long awaited dinner,
with superb conversation
which was indeed worth waiting for.
H has a beautiful spot with a beautiful 360  degree
view of the city on the very top deck.

Can you see Mt. Rainier in the mist?
