Weeping from the Den

Before he gave the Urbi et Orbi Blessing to the world, even to us, he asked us all for a prayer for him, and he knelt. She held our paws and wept. Could this be a gift?

Habemus Papam Francisco!

He's a Jesuit, from Latin America, he is smart, holy, cooked his own meals, took public transportation, and is an advocate for the poor. JXXIII, mil gracias! JPI, mil gracias!

The Pain of Waiting

White Smoke, but No Internet!!!

The keeper just flew back in from her office, not a happy camper, but relieved to be home. Why?
All of the Internet went down at her office...And she kind of lost it. So she got home without a speeding ticket and now we are waiting all together!

Waiting For White Smoke

While the keeper flew around like those hummingbirds outside, trying to avoid watching pope news, we napped to the cantering washing machine cleaning our furry pillows and their covers. Unlike the keeper, we handle waiting well, without much stress.

More Waiting for White Smoke

Actually, the keeper told us she is hoping that the conclave takes a while.  That will give the Spirit serious time to work. But she is not the most patient of wait-ers, so this morning there was a trip to the car wash--exterior and interior, and then to Costco for some staples, and of course some plants, and other things not on her list, But Alice and I got a great new box out of that trip. Then after cleaning the house, since she forgot to call Cristina, she started the 4 kinds of tomatoes, some leeks, broccoli, and  kale in our indoor heated nursery. A month later than last year because she learned we started too soon last year. So we are sowing hope for something good and healthy here.  May the electors do the same!

Waiting for White Smoke

So, you all may be interested in how the royal household here is faring now that the conclave is beginning. Just to keep us on our toes, we not only have the Conclave app ( recommended by a certain pastor and staff), but now have installed the Pope Alarm which will wake us either by email or text if white smoke emerges while we are sleeping or otherwise occupied. The keeper came home late last eve because instead of partying madly until it is over, she took a more pious route and decided to pray for the conclave at her own parish. We are hoping for a shepherd with a pastoral heart and a keen ability to hire great folks to clean house.  We noticed that she wore her red shoes all day in anticipation, except when she went to the gym and donned the hot pink ones....it is the 4th week of Lent, you know.
