Yet Another Meal

We are still recovering from our Thanksgiving feasts and leftovers here.
But she seemed to be able to find enough hunger to devour a plate of pasta with MKD tonight.  Well see how well her clothes fit in the morning. She came home happy that she was able to spend time with MK, though.

Advent Vespers I

Late yesterday afternoon the keeper left me for the cathedral where she was reading.
She spent a long time on the University Bridge which was open.  But it was so beautiful she didn't mind, And when she finally arrived at her destination, the western colors took her breath away, but she said that the camera didn't really do them justice.

Caminata and Holy Vision

The walk led the keeper to the lake and to the view of the most majestic mountain ever.

Black Friday Recap

Today was a much quieter day.  Yesterday was a little crazy here.
Our furnace stopped yesterday morning, and we had to find alternative sources of heat before we even got the dinner ready.  One of the guests had a car accident. So the dinner was smaller and so I got more turkey.  But it ended up being a great evening.
The space heaters were as good as the regular heat.  and the guests were so fun the keeper forgot to take photos.
And today another friend was not able to spend the day over here downtown.  So the keeper and I had a lovely day.  She finally went out walking and was greeted by the neighbors' chickens, which are pretty fetching.

Remembering A Great Light on a Dark Night

The keeper came home a little late tonight. She said she went to a funeral for a woman who died to young, who died suddenly, and who was the heart and soul of her organization. She was the quiet still center in the midst of a very rapidly spinning world. What a loss for her family and everyone.
A very good reminder to savor those who have been given to us each day while they are with us and not to take each other for granted.

The new old lights have a soft old glow to them, especially on a rainy night like tonight.

Remembering With Lasagne

They also celebrated him with lasagne, the same recipe he had prepared for them from scratch the month before he died.

Remembering Jack

This evening they celebrated their dear friend Jack with flowers, words, memories, and Jameson.

Early Evening at Calvary

This early evening the keeper fed me and went to the cemetery to be with friends living and dead.
The sky couldn't have been more beautiful.
Last year it poured rain and soaked them to the bone.

Roses in Late November

The keeper came home and took an afternoon walk on this beautiful bright chilly day.
She was not expecting to see so many roses still in bloom.

Mod Reward

The keeper decided to work off her frustrations at the gym tonight.
Even better, afterward she stopped at her new occasion of sin  to bring home dinner.
I am partial to the sausage on the Jasper pizza, myself.

Moon

Not all of the lights went out, though.
The camera lens makes the moon look full tonight.

Power Outage

What a day! I understand the weather affected all the commutes today. I heard the keeper grousing about an 80 minute drive to work, and another 65 trip up to a meeting in Edmonds.
During her meeting the power went off, but they kept on going when the owner brought out candles.
However, it took her another 45 minutes to make the 15 minute trip home without any streetlights.

Luna Fria

No clouds, no rain tonight, and a crescent moon rising in the west.

Our Tiny Friend

Today after Mass the keeper joined me in the back yard. The rains stopped, the sky cleared, and she not only planted the remaining 12 dozen bulbs in the yard, but stowed away all of the furniture and pillows into the shed.  But before she was finished our little hummingbird friend dive bombed us several times to remind us to fill the feeders.  He doesn't like cameras, and doesn't stay in one place for long. But he does feel free to make his needs known.

The Mighty Girl Who Likes the Ambo

The keeper is very fond of a little girl whose parents are wonderful people.
Today she had a great time exploring the sanctuary and the ambo.
She clearly knows her God-given place in the Church!

Through the Rain

This has been a sobering end of week.
The rain has matched the mood post Paris, post Beirut, bombings.
This morning the keeper found a little color in midst of the damp fog of loss.

Reception Following

The keeper met new friends from DESC who not only sat next to her but wanted their photos taken too.

Your Names are 92 bells hung in my heart

Tonight was the Mass for the Homeless who died on the streets of Seattle this year.
As each of the 92 names was read, a bell tolled. 92 bells, 92 lives, 92 summons for us as a civilized and compassionate people to repent and take action.

From Innis Arden

She didn't go right downtown today, but headed north to a gathering where she saw the first snow on the Olympics.

Hibiscus for Veterans Day

This morning the sun came out and the hibiscus almost bloomed.

Sunset Comes Early and Artfully

The traffic and the clouds and the sunset made amazing designs tonight.

And a slice of sunset slivered in.
