Yet Another LBD!

The keeper spent some time on Saturday hunting for the perfect LBD to wear to a friend's wedding in October. The invitation said " Formal Attire." When she brought it home and tried it on for me, I told her that she needs to work out every day at the gym to be able to get into it. She had a summer of eating very rich foods. Now she needs the fall  to work it all off.

Green Glassy Autumn Light

The Second Walk of Fall

The keeper decided to take a long walk this afternoon.  She had taken a great walk with a good friend through Seattle in the rain earlier in the week, But today she said felt like it was summer again.
Mount Rainier was out and so were the LFP residents. Folks were still water skiing today in their wet suits.

The Fall Fruits

Chestnuts ripening.

Rose Hips.

Lots of berries.
Lots of birds.

Diary of a Lonely Cat

I took to leaping onto the top of the refrigerator to get some attention around here. She finally noticed that I was up there.  She couldn't figure out where my howling was coming from. But I knew there was a roast chicken in the frig, and it was way better than what was in my bowl. eventually I came down and many hours later I got to share some of the chicken. It was worth the effort.

One More Month of LFP Farmers Market

The LFP farmers Market has four more weeks before it closes this year.
This afternoon she was approached by a woman she hadn't seen since 1998 when she left St. T. This person had sung in the choir and been quite active, and to the Keeper's surprise, lives tight down the street from her.
Today the keeper was delighted to find mounds of sunflowers,

some good garlic and heirloom tomatoes,

and falafel wraps from Eya's, who were prepared for the big match up game.

Fine Art and Liturgy

This morning, the Cathedral hosted the Ministries Fair. Lots of opportunities. But the Liturgy booth clearly had the most interesting array of objects and art. A nice Amish quilt piece and some popes!

Old Friends

The keeper and her long time friend had a dinner together at the cottage. They started out on the deck with the lasy G and T's of the season, but  it became chilly, so shared grilled chicken, vegetables, and salad indoors.
They were very well behaved, and shared their chicken with me.

Hunthausen Sunset

This is what people playing golf on sunny late summer eves

get to see

from the Golf Club at sunset.

Newcastle For Dinner

Today was the Hunthausen Golf Tournament to raise funds for the Cathedral Kitchen and other outreach ministries. The  golfers started early and the dinner guests started arriving around 4-something.  That's when the keeper arrived.

She was joined by her friend Joseph and his sister in law, Ayisha.

The pastoral leader told stories about some of the guests.

Tom finally arrived to join Ayisha and the others
just in time to make their pledge.

At St. Mary's on the Lake

Today the keeper is with the board on retreat. But it also has a bit of work connected to it.
But she is sitting outside looking for eagles right now. So far, only squirrels have shown their little faces.

Lake Forest Park Market Day

Yesterday was a glorious day for the keeper to visit the market, choose exactly each flower and onion and tomato she wanted. She also brought home new cat food.

Late Summer Sky

The sky was lovely and filled with beautiful growing things.

Evening Camino

Tonight the keeper got home from the office and let me out and then let herself return to her walking paths.  She hadn't been doing this for a few weeks, so was eager to visit the flowers on the route.

Moon Over Us

The sweet moon rose over us tonight and we remembered all our friends, near and far.

Farmers Market Morning

This morning the keeper left me and drove down to the LFP Farmers' Market.
She found many things that she saw in Paris...crepes, macarons, and lovely flowers, fruits and vegetables. She came home with big bags of treats.

Planning for the Future

er

Every day they checked out real estate ads in windows of real estate companies. They thought this one looked promising.

Homeward

They left on time  and arrived  back in Seattle safe and sound.

Our Couchette

This roomlette was so small that the travelers and their luggage barely could fit into it.There was a jetted tub, and someone could have slept in there, possibly.

Hotel Vert

Delirious after the ordeal of trying to give back the rental cat, the travelers repaired to Hotel Vert, the transit hotel whose rooms were smaller than most Eastside closets. They hit the restaurant/bar before turning in, seeking anything but jamon, bread, and convinced the waiter that they would only be satisfied with salad vert, since this was a green hotel.
