Retreat with the Peace Community

This morning it was an early breakfast because she needed to be at the retreat center in Bellevue early. She led sisters in a retreat all day. The sharing was wonderful and the setting was fragrant and beautiful.  She came home bearing scents of iris, wisteria, jasmine, cedar, and sunlight on the grass.

Even St. Francis seems happy over there.

Papal Reception

When the keeper visits the Chancery, PF  always helps Kit  welcome guests.
Yesterday, he showed up in the Popemobile with a Hallelujah Chorus.

Confirmation

Last night I ate late because of confirmation rehearsal. Tonight I ate late because of the real confirmation. I hear it was very tastefully and simply done. an impressive group of youth and adults!
She was sponsoring a wonderful woman whom she just met last night--a dog person, not a cat person. But still wonderful.  She also made some other new acquaintances at the dinner last night.

At the Dean's Dinner

This has been a week where I ate late. She was out eating in other places. On Tuesday it was SU and the Dean's Dinner. They focused on a very practical topic. So many challenges for ministerial students. They spend a lot of money to work for less money, and never have a course in how to administer a large or small non-profit organization.  But they do get pastoral skills and can exegete anything! But maybe not the balance sheet!

FirePit Shopping

I understand we are getting a gas firepit. Nothing came home today, but now we know what's out there.  And I can guess the ones she liked the best were way over budget!  Stay tuned!

Caminata to Lyon Creek Preserve

Lyon Creek Preserve is so quiet and relatively undiscovered.

Some come to rest and text. Others, to paddle with the ducks and herons.

Wisteria and Light

We can't get enough of these purple blossoms here!
