Market Day with a Peruvian Accento

LFP had a Peruvian flavor today. The llamas met shoppers as they entered.

The Peruvian music filled the air.

And her favorite flower sellers were there, who showed her how to keep our sunflowers happy and alive for over two weeks.

Skype to Nicaragua

Today after Mass the keeper attended a skype call which almost didn't happen with our young people in Nicaragua. The power had gone down there and they weren't sure when it would come back on.  But, it did. She said that the kids looked fine, they were hot, and having fun with the Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos at the orphanage, but were most excited to talk about the tarantula and the scorpions they had seen.  And the parents and a grandma  all lined up to say something and be seen.  It was both tender and hilarious. She said it felt a bit like the opening day of camp.

A Memorable Gift

This was a birthday gift which seemed to bring back a lot of memories for the keeper.
She tested it tonight.  But we decided that we need  friends to share it, and cuisine from Provence to follow. An end of the summer party?  For sure! A ticket to Paris ?  Next year. Next year for sure!

. . . And the Livin' is Easy. . .mostly. . .

This is quite a vacation for both myself and the keeper.
We are spending a lot of time together. She reads, I nap. She swings and reads, I nap.
The hornets found her again though and this time got her on the back. She shouldn't have tried to fight them off with a cloth. So it's back to ice packs and other things. But at least you can't see how the right side of her back looks like a twisted swollen oddity.

She and MK did go out for dinner, but MK showed up to check out the deck and yard, and me, of course.

Chance of Showers

The showers arrived.  No watering tonight! The keeper and I spent the day outside.
I was a faithful companion to her as she read on the deck---novels  and short stories and a wonderful Trappist memoir, she said.  When the rains came, the fragrance was like no other, fresh, sweet, and welcome. But now it feels like October.  The keeper says it feels like the beach.

Uninterrupted Sustained Silent Summer Reading from the Swing

Here is a view of heaven from the hammock swing where the keeper spent her afternoon reading        New Yorker short stories and The Poisonwood Bible.

Summer Reunion

Summer reunion--on the beloved deck over the Lake.
Chuck and Lupita are consummate hosts.
And the guests are happily spoiled by their hospitality.

The visitor from the East was looking relaxed and more rested. And they all celebrated this!

The eagles flew over several times and the bats brushed by as well as the dusk turned to dark.
