More Fleurish

The keeper has always been terrified of the orchid. It seems a bit too delicate for her kind of forgetful plant neglect. But the orchid which we got for Easter is still alive! You might call it good luck. You might call it one ice cube per week. It's even producing new flowers!

Now, the pansy is no pansy.  It is a hardy little plant. It takes all of her neglect and doesn't require even an ice cube. This one is worth tending, however. It is so beautiful and delicate with orchid like colors in the flower box on the deck.

Ariadne auf Naxos

If you can imagine, I just finished eating. She just got home. I made her open the chicken she had grilled and give me a piece as a reconciliation offering. It seems that she and J spent the whole evening at the opera. While I waited at home, they dined quite sumptuously, took in a lecture, visited with friends, experienced the opera, as well as cherry sorbet at intermission. She did say it was very good. Sorbet and opera.

Faretheewell Josefina, Lorraine, and Jerry

This week the keepers former parish celebrated three funerals.  She could only attend one. But she caught up with many old time friends and parishioners whom she hadn't seen for awhile, and she heard about the two funerals she missed, as well as a few others!

Dinner under Glass

It was a perfect night. The clouds vanished. The wine flowed.  The food was fine. Friends appeared and all caught up on each others' lives.
Another friend spoke and got spoken to and gifted.

Then the keeper and R monorailed and walked back to the hill. Finally she came home to me who was very hungry and feeling neglected.

Back to Chihuly

Yes, I ate very late tonight.  But I had rationed my food thinking that this might happen when I noticed she was hauling out an extra set of clothes this morning. She was at the Chihuly Museum for a dinner and speeches. But they got to see the glass art before they ate.

Her favorite is the boat and floats.

Shelled Visitor

Today felt like November.  It was grey, rainy. and chilly.
Even the snail hung out on the front porch.
