Some scenes of life on the Rive Gauche

This is a magical place where you could pick any corner and spend hours taking in the faces, the colors, the life that passes by with so many stories to tell.

Eglise Saint-Severin

Saint-Severin is right across the street from the hotel. It has some lovely art, including Rouault prints which change seasonally,  and the windows for the seven sacraments are incredible. The iPad is not letting us post all the window photos, but they are beautiful and tres modern. It is also said that this was a starting point for the Camino to Santiago, so there are many brass scallop shells in the sidewalks along Rue Saint-Jacques.

Checking in on Notre Dame

Lots of cranes, scaffolding, and 6 story portable buildings to house all the teams working on it!

The Eagle Landed in Paris This Morning

We now have two new keepers. We knew she was going somewhere.
Too much running around these last weeks.
And she left a pile of cat food and instructions on the counter.

Happy Feast of St. Therese!

We had another early dinner, The keeper went out tonight to Mount Baker because she her old parish, St. Therese, whose community 30 years ago had taught her how to be a pastor, was celebrating the community and the fact that they have missed being together during COVID. She had a wonderful time seeing so many old friends and getting caught up.

Dinner with Joy and Her Magical Hidden Garden

Happy October, everyone! The blog is back after our 10 month hiatus.
The keeper fed us quite early last night so she could go off to pick up Peg and Judy for dinner at Joy’s cottage with its magically enchanted garden. After they celebrated Cesar Franck’s 200th birthday with an organ concert by Joseph Adam, which she said was quite amazing.

Unlike our garden, Joy’s is slowly moving into Fall with grace and elegance.
