What We Did This Afternoon

She brought out her books, some water and the tunes.
I joined her and dreamt wildly while she read.
I think she is preparing some talks because
some of them looked big and churchy.
Some didn't, though.

Back to the Caminata

This afternoon she left me on the deck in my chair and power walked down to the lake.
The fall flowers are starting to bloom.

And the mountain was wearing a beret.
Or a hairpiece!

Getting to the Root of the Issue

All week long, actually for  three weeks long, she has been nursing a molar which has been very painful. Her dentists have been very cautious in determining the best treatment.
Well, yesterday it happened.  They worked on her for two hours, and she came home bearing pills and a bruised mouth.
I commiserated with her because I have a few bad teeth but won't let anyone touch them.
I hear they will anesthetize me just to look at them. No way.

She started to perk up today, though, and got back to her more energetic activities.
Let's hear it for modern chemistry!

Sunday Caminata

This afternoon the sun came out and so I took a nap on the deck and the keeper took a nice long walk down to Lyon Creek Park. She tells me that the photos do not do justice to the beauty she observed.
I told her to get a new IPhone.

The house with the fabulous garden now has red berried bushes guarding its sweet brick walkway through the trellis.

Lyon Creek was running a little faster after the day of rain.

The mountain wasn't visible, and there were few still out looking.
But the Lake was serene.

Our Bouquet of Sun on a Grey Day

This morning the keeper left early for the Shoreline Farmers Marker.
It was a grey, cold day, and she couldn't wait til Sunday for her sunflowers.
Last week's fizzled way too early. You can see our bouquet being put together.

The Flowers are Happy

Rain. Gray. Clouds. Damp.
We have some friends who love this weather.
As for the keeper and I, we choose the sun, blue sky, soft breeze and dry air.
However, the plants and the flowers at the cottage all seemed quite dontent today and lifted their weary little faces to the rain with bright gratitude.

Perhaps this will be an indoor weekend. Sigh.
Thank God we took the cloth swing chairs in several days ago.
