Sun Bathing
What a great day! It's October, and here we are taking sun baths on the deck! Both Alice and I stretched out most of the day soaking it in. The keeper should have joined us. She has a pesky cold, and stayed inside to work at the computer, since she didn't feel like infecting eastsiders. We think she was working on budgets because we heard all kinds of muttering.
Happy Blessed Mother Mary Rose Day!
Because of Blessed Mother Mary Rose, the keeper was/is incredibly blessed to have these women in her life--some when she was pretty young, others, much later. Each one of them helped her identify her gifts and held her to them, with great encouragement, whether it was drama, music, social justice, poetry, writing, languages, theology, spiritual discernment, leadership, truth telling, and laughter!

Beginning of Fall
Autumn Croci
Today the keeper realized that she had caught the cold or whatever it is which her friend the theologian brought with her from the retreat. She was happy that the theologian was healthy by the time she boarded the plane for Brazil. But, she realized that the germs stayed in Shoreline. The keeper tried to concentrate on her projects at the office but found it impossible. She left earlier than usual and decided to go out walking to get some air. Although she did not restore her health she saw some pretty sights, including these ethereal croci.

Watching The Cardinal
Tonight we had family movie night. We haven't done this for a month. The keeper has been too busy to sit that long. Tonight we are watching The Cardinal. The keeper likes the Roman scenery and also is fascinated by the Boston Church, and the Pre-Vatican II world. Right now, Father Steve is on a leave of absence and has met an engaging young woman from Vienna. We will see how all this turns out. We think he will not stay with the young woman.
St. Francis Day
This morning and this evening it was clear that autumn had arrived. There was a bit of chill and a few leaves are spiraling to the ground. And a few bushes are taking flame.
Welcome Back, Cecil
Well, friends, Cecil returned last night. He was a much more humble cat, and tonight didn't press to go out. He told me what happened, but we decided not to tell the keeper, because she would never let us out again.
