Finally, Some Vegetables

We will finally have some vegetables.  Alice tells me that tomatoes are a fruit.  The green peppers are actually coming in on the deck.  There was a lot of seed sown to get two peppers.

Cecil's 2 Month Anniversary

I have been at this nice house for two months now.  In that time, I have made new friends, had more shots, gotten a collar with a bell, pet insurance, an ant farm, fancy food, and a catnip patch.  I think I will stay.  I am beginning to forget that I was once sad about being left behind.  I hope the people who left me are doing ok.

Feast of St. Francis

Yesterday we celebrated the keeper's day off and St. Francis' feast day by receiving a blessing and staying out of her way while she cleaned the two birdbaths--one which St. Francis was holding was unfit even for slugs and the front birdbath was awful.  So we gave all of our creature friends clean water.

The spiders' webs are taking over the yard and are catching the pine needles dropping from the sky. Suddenly the pine needles become arrested in flight. And they are dancing, twisting, golden prisoners twirling above us.

Lunch with Friends

The keeper brought home an extra plate of the lunch she had her friends Guadalupe, her son Joseph, and Lola the Boxer.  They had horchata and chicken in mole sauce imported from Oaxaca.
