Pony Party at Christ the King

All the years being at CK every year I recommended having pony rides.
Eleven years later...it happened! on the front lawn of the rectory!

Snort and whinney!
Hi ho Silver! Or in this case,
Applesauce or Annie or Grey!

Christ the King /Bite of Broadview

Hadn't visited the Fall fest in many years. It's all outside now and the pastor
is playing base in the old rock band.

It was good to run into friends.

Beautiful sights in the neighborhood

On the wall at the Frye.

Growing at the church across from the office.
They smell great too.

After the Hearings

Interesting sight from a short camino.
Sums up the SCOTUS hearings.

Happy Autumn Equinox

Autumn arrived with enough sun in the morning to plant a new rose
 and winter pansies.
Just after we finished helping her water,
the skies opened and finished the chore for us.

Rachmaninoff!

A night with Rachmaninoff, good friends, and Capella Romana

Great posters!

These wonderful posters have begun to appear
around the CD and the keeper's office.

View from the Sky Club

We sent our keeper back to the office on Wednesday.
She had a lunch at Skyline for Fulcrum with an incredible group of women.
And very beautiful views.

Overpacked!

A  big Styrofoam box was delivered to the house.
When we opened it, we found hidden under three
ice packs, three tiny boxes
of even tinier bottles of eye drops.

Party’s Over

We spent part of this week keeping the keeper company.
She had the flu/cold mess that sent her to bed for two days.
The state of the sunflowers describes it all.

True Nature is Never Spent

An afternoon spent with an old St. T friend in her backyard bird sanctuary with this flicker with orange tailfeathers and all of the squirrels waiting for scraps underneath the bird feeder.

Then, coming home to see how the squash which our squirrels planted is becoming quite
a Halloweeny ghostly wart-ed squash/gourd.

Storm Final Game 2

A lovely invitation to accompany Julie to the Storm's 2nd game in the Finals.

The final winning point with 1.8 seconds on the clock.
Storm 2   Mystics 0

On to Washington DC for Game 3

Rally with Call to Action

Saturday's rally at the cathedral was small but all the participants
are dogged, faithful, active, who love the church,
lovingly call for a housecleaning and transformation
in the wake of the Pennsylvania
grand jury report re; abuse and the ways the bishops and cardinals covered it all up.
The calls for change are not out of disrespect and hatred of the Church but out of deep care for her wounded and neglected  body.

Taize prayers for wisdom

It seemed a wise choice to pray for wisdom
at Taize on Friday evening.

Roses and Strings

Shoreline Farmers Market Strings

LFP Roses

LaborDay Camino

,

Even though there is a touch of autumn in the air,
the camino today brought our some beautiful
colors and light.

Our Playground

We spent a lot of time outside in .
the back yard in August.
Oliver even got into the swing for a ride or two.

Lucy  slept very well after a long day of monitoring squirrels and birds.

Oliver chased bugs and snuck over to eat the grass in the neighbors' lawn.
