Rex Hill

The keeper's cousin is now growing pinot grapes for Rex Hill.
They tested the results tonight and approved.

Lemmings at That's Amore

Tonight I ate late again.
The keeper had been invited to celebrate Linda
who was ending her 20 plus years as leader of her parish.
She had just turned in her keys and her garage door opener.
The Archdiocese gave her a beautiful Waterford bowl and took the group who called themselves Lemmings to dinner.

A Dinner to Remember

Tonight I dined alone. Yesterday was a faded dream.  But the keeper had a good time with her friends on this conclusion of the Pride Weekend.  R and J hosted one of the classiest dinners ever.

The chefs were so hospitable.

The guests were scintillating.

The cuisine and the presentation were 5 stars!

Lovely Saturday night

Hi, readers,  the keeper and I spent last night together outside around our fire table.
It was lovely. She read and I chased bugs. We also listened to French cafe music.
I wish we had more times like this.

The POTUS is here

The keeper went downtown late this afternoon.
She was happy she walked.  It was one knot of traffic.
The President is in town. The police horses, buses, helicopters, vans, plainclothes,
terrorist units, shaved heads with ear pieces, all were out to protect him.
And the protesters also met him with some important messages.

Vista and Repose

She walked about 4 miles and checked out her favorite sight. I napped on the deck,  When she got homed she joined me on the deck. I sat on her lap as she tried to read the paper. It worked for a minute.

Camino Prep

The Camino Seattle starts next week, but the keeper got a head start this afternoon through the neighborhood and took in all the beautiful flowers which were supposed to be part of the LFP Hidden Gardens Tour  which took place yesterday.

Woman of Valor and a Night at Home with Admirers

Good news is that I got a good breakfast on Saturday morning.  The keeper was off to yet another huge funeral of a peer, former JV, spiritual director, pastoral coordinator, who was taken too early.

But last night I ate at an appropriate hour because the company came here, so I could taste the appetizers, the fish course, and just visit and be admired.  Life should be like this all the time.

Friday at Frank's with Friends

Yup, right again. I ate late on Friday night.  She joined friends for a little TGIF at a new spot near Calvary. I hear it was tasty, including the bright rose wine.
However, I have begun to save part of my breakfast on a regular basis. She is not very responsible some days.

Last Spring Luna

Ministries Dinner

I ate late yet again.She didn't, though.
Tonight she helped serve at the Ministries Dinner at you know where.
People seemed to have a very good time, and the food was as tasty as it gets, I am told.

There was plenty of pork, mashed potatoes, potato rolls, and wonderful salad with lots of wine and sorbeto for dessert.

Two charming servers

Margaret, the party planner, and the wine stewards.

Larry celebrated his birthday at the dinner.
A most interesting place to celebrate, but good food, 200 plus partygoers,
not bad!

Remembering the Dead, Praying for the Living

St. James was a jewel-like sanctuary of  contemplation and serenity for the worshipers.

The music and interfaith chant lent a spirit of peace.

The big religious names and the civic leaders ( mostly men, save a police chief and an ecumenical officer) lined the front row.

The Police Chief paid rapt attention to the pastor.

Prayer and Procession

Tonight I ate very late. There was a procession from one cathedral to another.
They were remembering the Orlando victims, standing up against hatred and violence and standing with LGBTQ communities everywhere, with brown communities, with everyone who is terrorized because they are "other."

The weather cooperated.
And these things always give her a chance to see old friends.

She hadn't seen Justin since he was 3 mos. old.  He is now in graduate school.

She hadn't seen Carol and Tiffany since the procession for the Sisters several summers ago.

She had already
seen Judy, Roseann, and Curtis at 5:30 Mass.

Normandy in Minneapolis

They hotel in Minneapolis was very old and  spacious compared to St. Cloud.
It also had been dedicated to a Normandy theme for nearly 100 years.
So lots of scenes from Normandy hung on the walls.
Suzy and Patty, we thought you would like these! Especially all the road signs pointing every way but the right way!

Minneapolis

The cousins  concluded their adventure with the wonderful dinner in Minneapolis,
more family stories, promises to activate ancestry.com, and a chance to visit with Linda Ronstadt in Marin.

The keeper sampled WallEye and it  didn't taste like chicken!

They even had homemade cookies and cream ice cream!

Mass of Christian Burial

This morning hundreds gathered to pay respects and
celebrate WEC's life of neighborly generosity.
Family came, the Diocese of St. Cloud came, St. John's, St. Ben's,
the Crosiers, the Franciscans, Benedictines, nuns, priests, business colleagues,
parishioners, employees, and grateful citizens gathered to pay respect.

The VG preached and helped people
envision a new life for WEC where he could
rest finally in the  unending generosity of  God
whose presence he witnessed all his life.

Lois and Vickie, at last!

The cousins finally met Vickie and Lois who had served
as WEC's personal and executive assistants for almost
40 years each. In fact, they continue to work for the
Family.  These women have corresponded with 1000's, sent tens of thousands messages, news clippings, placed millions of calls for WEC. They also met the other staff who provided care to
Bill and Virginia over so many years.
